# Get Microsoft Teams notifications for feature requests

Post new requests, comments, private messages, vote milestones and shipped requests to a Microsoft Teams channel, through a Teams workflow.

Post what happens on your board to a Microsoft Teams channel. Each event arrives as a card that says what happened, with a button that opens it.

You connect a channel with a Teams workflow, so there is no app to install.

Microsoft Teams comes with the Growth, Pro and Lifetime plans. A channel you connect keeps working if your plan ends.

## Set Up

### 1. Create the workflow in Teams

1. In Teams, go to the channel you want the cards in.
2. Open the channel's **⋯** menu and choose **Workflows**.
3. Pick the template **Send webhook alerts to a channel**.
4. Check the team and channel, then click **Save**.
5. Copy the link the workflow shows you.

Use **Send webhook alerts to a channel** and not the templates that only accept alerts *from specific people* or *from people in an org*. Those ask every sender to sign in to Microsoft, which featurevote can't do, so their cards never arrive.

### 2. Connect it in featurevote

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations** and click **Set up** next to **Microsoft Teams**.
2. Paste the workflow link, tick the events you want and click **Connect Teams**.
3. Pick an event next to **Send test** and click it. An example card arrives in your channel.

The Microsoft Teams row then shows the last delivery, for example *Last sent Oct 30, 2026, 10:40 AM UTC · 202*.

## Events

| Event | Posted when |
| --- | --- |
| New request | Someone posts a request on the board or in Discord, you add one in featurevote, or you turn a message into one. Requests waiting for your approval are posted too. |
| New comment | A visitor or your team comments on a request in featurevote. Internal comments are marked as internal. |
| Vote milestone | A request reaches 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 votes. |
| Request shipped | You mark a request done and choose to tell its voters. |
| New private message | Someone sends your team a private message from the board. Its button opens your inbox. |

A private request isn't on your public board, so its button opens it in featurevote instead.

These are the same events, sent at the same moments, as [webhooks](https://featurevote.app/docs/integrations/webhooks).

## Your Workflow Link

Anyone who has the workflow link can post to your channel, so featurevote keeps it private. After you save it, the link is never shown again, not even to your team.

- **To post to another channel**, create a workflow there and paste its link into **New workflow link**, then click **Save changes**.
- **To stop the cards**, click **Disconnect Teams**. Delete the workflow in Teams as well, so the old link stops working.

featurevote only accepts links from Microsoft's workflow addresses, such as ones ending in `environment.api.powerplatform.com`.

## Delivery

- A card that fails is not posted again, and the Microsoft Teams row shows why it failed.
- The workflow has 10 seconds to answer. Redirects are not followed.

## Troubleshooting

**The test says it was sent, but no card appears.** The workflow accepted the card but could not post it. Open the workflow in Teams under **Workflows** and look at its run history. It may be turned off, or its connection to Teams may need fixing.

**Cards stopped after someone left the company.** A workflow belongs to the person who created it, not to the channel. Ask a Teams admin to add a co-owner to the workflow, or create a new one and paste its link.

**"Paste the link from a Teams workflow."** featurevote only posts to Microsoft's workflow addresses. Copy the link from the workflow itself, not from the channel or a browser address bar.
