How a merge works

From the admin side, an AI scan looks at a request and proposes the entries that describe the same thing. You pick which ones actually are duplicates and confirm — nothing merges on its own.

On merge, the votes move to the surviving request. A person who voted on two of the twins counts once, not twice. Comments move with their ideas, and the merged entries are archived with a note pointing at where the conversation went.

What it catches, what it doesn't

The matching works on meaning, so rewordings of the same ask are found even with no words in common. What it cannot always see is two genuinely different framings of the same underlying need — “export to CSV” and “let my accountant see the numbers” may be one problem, but that call needs a human.

That is why the flow is suggestion plus confirmation rather than automation: the tool does the reading, you make the call that changes the board.
