— Notify voters · when it ships

Tell customers when their request ships.

Featurevote tells customers when their feature request ships. Mark a request Done, and the people who voted for it and left an email hear about it in their inbox.

It carries your release note, if you wrote one, and the request they voted for. When you publish a changelog, you can email that to your subscribers too.

— How it works

Mark it done, and they hear about it.

The request people voted on is the one you close, so nobody has to remember who asked. For the longer version, read how to tell customers their request shipped.

  1. Mark it doneMove the request to Done. What the customer wrote stays on the post as they wrote it.
  2. Write a release noteSay what shipped in your own words, or let Generate draft it. Leave it empty and the request is used.
  3. Voters get an emailNotify Voters is ticked by default. Voters who left an email get your note, or the request itself if you left it empty.
  4. Tell everyone elseOn a public board, copy a ready post with the link. Later, pick the request for a changelog.

— Done to changelog · 38 seconds

A request marked done, then a changelog.

A request is marked done, and its voters are emailed. Then a changelog is written from what shipped, and published.

— Who hears about it

The voters first, then whoever you tell.

Voters with an email
An email when you mark the request done, with your release note, if you wrote one, and the request they voted for.
The person who asked
Posting a request counts as their vote, so they get the same email if they left an address.
One-click voters
Visitors who voted without an email get no email. They see the request under Completed on the board, and on the roadmap if it is on.
Changelog subscribers
When you publish a changelog, you can email it to your contacts who haven’t unsubscribed, or to the groups you pick. Visitors subscribe from the board.
Slack and Discord
Slack can post when you mark a request done and email its voters. Discord can post each changelog to a channel you pick.
Make, n8n or Zapier
When you mark a request done and tell its voters, a Request shipped webhook sends it on to a spreadsheet, a planning board or your own server.

— Questions, answered short

The short answers.

Who gets the email?

The people who voted for the request and left an email address. Posting a request counts as a vote. You can untick anyone before it sends.

Can voters reply?

Yes. Their reply goes to your email, so you can answer them yourself.

Do voters need an account?

No. Voting needs no account and no email, and a one-click voter can't be emailed. A board setting can ask for an email first if you want one. How no-login voting works.

Is it free?

Yes. The voter email and the changelog are on every plan, the free one included.

Can I mark several done at once?

Yes. Pick them in the request list and mark them done together, and each one emails its own voters.

Can I change the note after it is sent?

Yes, the note on the post and in your next changelog. Emails already sent keep the text they had.
