  2. Share one linkThe board lives at a public URL. Drop it in a Discord server, a group chat, a newsletter, or pin it to a noticeboard as a QR code. Nobody needs an invite.

How many options
Discord's built-in poll holds up to ten answers. A board holds 15 active items on the free plan and more on the paid ones, and people can add their own while there is room.
How long it runs
Discord's built-in poll closes after a week at the most. A board stays open, and the votes keep adding up for as long as the list matters.
Who can vote
A poll is answered by people who are already inside the group. A board is a link, so anyone you send it to can vote without joining anything.
Where it lives
A poll scrolls away in the conversation. A board has its own address you can pin, embed on a site, or print as a QR code.

Do voters need an account?
No. Anyone with the link taps the vote button once and the vote counts — no account, no email. If you would rather collect emails, every board has a "Require email to vote" setting.
Can people add their own items to the list?
Yes. The board has a post form, so anyone with the link can suggest an item without an account. You decide what stays — items can be merged or archived from the admin side.
Is it only for software features?
No. Featurevote was built as feature-voting software, but a board is just a list with voting on it. Groups use boards to rank merch designs, book lists, common-room purchases, and community projects.
Can I just use a Discord poll instead?
For a quick question, yes. Discord's built-in poll takes up to ten answers and closes after a week at the most, so it suits a decision that has an answer. A board suits a list that stays open, holds more items than that, and can be voted on by anyone with the link — including people who are not in the server.
What does it cost?
The free plan runs a public board with up to 15 active items, which covers most group lists. Paid plans lift the limits.
Can someone vote twice?
Not on the same item: each browser gets one vote per item, enforced by an anonymous token plus a rate limit. Someone can support as many different items as they like. Clearing browser data gets around the limit — it is built to keep a group list honest, not to run an election.
